Genital Area Tightening
The genital area gradually loses tightness over time. Especially women who have experienced pregnancy, given birth, gone through menopause, or have reproductive health issues may experience expansion in the genital area. Genital tightening is not only an aesthetic operation but also an important medical procedure performed to restore functionality for health reasons.
What are the causes of loss of tightness in the genital area?
Hormonal imbalances in the vagina and other pelvic organs, as well as physical strain or stress, can lead to vaginal laxity.
Other reasons for looseness in the genital area include:
- Vaginal deliveries that strain muscles, tendons, and vaginal walls
- Deterioration due to decreased estrogen levels caused by menopause
- Reduced estrogen levels caused by health problems
- Aging muscles and tendons that weaken the pelvic floor
- A woman’s genetically determined physical structure
What are the symptoms of vaginal laxity?
- Vaginal dryness
- Pain or discomfort during intercourse
- Unusual bleeding after intercourse
- Lack of lubrication during intercourse
- Urinary incontinence
- Burning sensation while urinating
- Unexpected and urgent need to urinate
- Frequent urinary tract infections
- Abnormal vaginal discharge
- Burning or itching in the vaginal or vulvar areas
- Reduced libido
- Lack of sexual arousal
- Decreased sexual satisfaction during intercourse
How is genital tightening performed?
Genital tightening is performed using laser technology. The procedure takes approximately half an hour. Patients can return to work the same day. There is no pain or discomfort during the procedure.
The procedure is done under local anesthesia. Fractional carbon dioxide and erbium YAG lasers are used for genital tightening. These lasers stimulate the vaginal connective tissue through thermal and ablative effects, promoting improvements in both collagen and elastic connective tissue.
The vaginal tightening process takes about 20 to 30 minutes. There is no pain during the procedure. Usually, 2 to 3 sessions are completed, which can be repeated if necessary. Patients can continue their daily activities and work after the procedure. No incisions or surgical procedures are performed. Burning sensation may occur for a few days post-procedure, which is treated with prescribed medications. Sexual intercourse should be avoided one week before the procedure.
